The Westmacott Nasal Dressing Forceps handles the packing and dressing work that follows most nasal procedures. At 20 cm it is one of the longer instruments in the nasal range, and that length is the point: nasal packing is placed through the nostril along the full depth of the cavity, so the jaws must reach the posterior nasal space while the surgeon’s hand stays clear of the nostril rim and the headlight beam.
Two patterns are offered. The standard jaw grips gauze, ribbon packing and Merocel sponges firmly. The delicate pattern narrows the jaw for work closer to the mucosa, where a heavier jaw risks abrading the septal lining or dislodging a fresh graft.
