The Tebbetts Nasal Rongeur removes small volumes of bone and cartilage precisely — nasal spine, vomer, turbinate concha — and tailors septal, vomer and ethmoid segments to shape during rhinoplasty. The 2.5 mm jaw is deliberately small: this is a shaping instrument, not a bulk-removal one, and each bite is meant to be a considered adjustment rather than a clearance.
The fine pointed tip is what makes that possible. In a nostril already narrowed by retraction, a broad rongeur head hides the exact point of contact; the pointed Tebbetts tip lets the surgeon see the bone edge being taken. The spring mechanism returns the jaws consistently so repeated bites can be placed accurately along a margin.
