The Scalp Suction Elevator does two things simultaneously that normally require two instruments and two hands: it lifts the scalp flap off the periosteum and suctions the blood that immediately fills the plane. In a facelift, browlift or craniotomy approach, the alternative is an elevator in one hand and a suction in the other, which works until the surgeon needs a third hand for cautery or retraction.
The 7 mm tip width covers a useful swath of the subgaleal plane. The slight curve follows the skull convexity, keeping the tip flat against bone rather than digging in. At 24 cm the instrument reaches from the temporal hairline to the vertex.
