About Surgical Clamps

Vascular clamps such as DeBakey, Javid and bulldog clamps close a vessel with atraumatic jaws; tangential (Satinsky) clamps close part of the vessel wall. Intestinal and resection clamps, including Fehland, Foss, Glassman and colon clamps, hold bowel or stomach. Wertheim, Guyon and Young clamps hold organ pedicles, and the Uppsala and Wikström clamps hold the gall duct. Variants differ by jaw shape (straight, angled, curved or spoon) and by length.
