About Rasps and Bone Files

Nasal rasps smooth and lower the nasal dorsum. Their teeth cut on the push or the pull stroke, and double-ended rasps often have one of each, or a fine and a coarse end. Several patterns have tungsten carbide or diamond-coated surfaces. Glabellar rasps (Aufricht, Peet, Webster) are curved for the bone between the brows, and antrum rasps (Watson-Williams, Wiener) are for the maxillary sinus. Miller and Miller-Colburn files are double-ended bone files, and raspatories such as Daniel-Gubisch work on rib and nasal bone. Check the cut and direction on each listing.
