About Plastic Surgery Scissors
Face-lift scissors such as Gorney, Matarasso and Rees have long handles and curved blades, often serrated, for undermining skin flaps. Nasal scissors (Cottle, Fomon, Joseph and Peck-Joseph) are short and angled or curved for work inside the nose, and septum scissors such as Becker and Caplan cut septal cartilage. Fomon upper and lower lateral scissors trim the nasal cartilages; Ragnell and similar blepharoplasty scissors are small and fine. Many patterns come with tungsten carbide inserts; each listing gives the blades, tips and length.
