About Osteotomes and Gouges

Osteotomes have a double-bevelled edge that cuts straight into bone. Lambotte, Stille (Swedish) and Smith-Petersen osteotomes are standard orthopedic patterns, Hibbs osteotomes have a thin blade, and the Scaglietti set gives several widths. Capener and Zielke gouges have a curved blade that scoops bone, and the Lebsche sternum chisel is made for dividing the sternum. Each listing gives the blade width. Nasal and facial osteotomes are under Plastic Surgery Instruments.
