About Electrosurgical Electrodes

Check the shaft first: monopolar electrodes are grouped by shaft diameter, 4.0 mm or 2.4 mm (3/32 in), and a shaft only fits a handpiece made for that size. Then choose the tip: ball electrodes for surface coagulation, blades for cutting, needles for fine work and loops for excision. Laparoscopic electrodes are 36 cm hooks and spatulas, with or without suction. Conization and bipolar electrodes have their own groups.
