Original price was: $30.00.Current price is: $24.99.

Cottle lower lateral nasal forceps, 6″ (15.0 cm), with multiple four-pin tips that oppose each other. Four points per jaw instead of a flat gripping face.

SKU: NJM-14408 Categories: ,

Lower lateral cartilage is springy, smooth and curved — three properties that defeat a flat jaw. A smooth face pressed against a curved cartilage contacts it at one line, and the cartilage rotates out of the grip the moment traction is applied. Four pins per jaw, meeting opposing pins on the other side, trap the cartilage between eight points arranged in a square rather than squeezing it between two surfaces.

That arrangement holds the cartilage’s orientation, not just its position — which is the whole requirement when a crus is being drawn into a new position and held while it is assessed or sutured. Pins also engage without a broad crushing footprint: cartilage has no blood supply to remodel a crushed area, so the grip has to come from a few small points rather than from pressure across a face.
