The Weil–Blakesley Sinus Suction Forceps combines two functions that normally require two instruments and two hands. The integrated suction channel clears blood and irrigation from the field while the fenestrated oval cup jaws grasp and remove tissue — so the endoscopic view stays clear without the surgeon or assistant withdrawing to introduce a separate suction.
The fenestration in the cup serves the suction path: it lets the vacuum draw through the jaw rather than being blocked the moment tissue seats in the cup. On a solid cup, the first bite occludes the channel; on a fenestrated cup, suction continues around the specimen.
