The Sheen Fragment Forceps addresses the retrieval problem that follows osteotomy and rasping in rhinoplasty: loose bone chips and cartilage fragments end up in the radix and the deep nasal vault, where they must be removed before closure but are hard to see and harder to reach.
The instrument is built almost entirely around a long, thin shaft. Depth of reach and minimal visual obstruction are the whole design brief — a standard-profile forceps introduced to the radix through a narrow open-approach incision blocks the surgeon’s view of exactly the space being searched. At 18 cm the Sheen reaches the nasion region with the finger grip still outside the incision.
